Missed calls for water, over and under pumping hand lines, pumping from the wrong side of the truck which isolates you from the crew and the fire ground, plus, not having enough people in the first five minutes.

ABOUT SAM BOOST®

SAM BENEFITS FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT

  • FIRE GROUND IMPROVEMENTS – SAM BOOST multiplies the force of the crew, so you can:
    • Double your work output in the first few minutes on scene with pumping automation.
    • Be confidently aggressive with the first 500 gallons by reading vital tank level data on your nozzle.
    • Dramatically improve safety by ensuring pressure control on the hand lines.
    • Charge your own line.
    • Get water to the seat of the fire faster.

FASTER

BOOST doubles the productivity of the first crew, allowing them to establish a critical secondary water source more quickly.

SIMPLER

SAM’s automation of parts of the pumping process saves time and simplifies decision making, alleviating stress for the pump operator.

SAFER

A faster and simpler attack makes every fireground safer. Combined with an operator whose time is freed up to maintain visibility with the attack crew, SAM adds safety across dimensions.

Sam Boosts FAQ’s

Any limitations to installing SAM Boost on an existing truck?
  • Not offered on Aerials at release
  • Paired to specific pre-connected discharge (Cannot share nozzle with other discharges)
  • Does not offer support for automation of Intakes, other than tank to pump or any other discharges other than the two pre-connects.
  • At release only trucks newer than 7 years. Must be CAN controlled.
  • Must have master gauges for initial release.
Will non-Boost lines pressures be impacted?

Boost will not “starve” additionally charged lines.

What if connectivity to the nozzle is lost?

Nozzle pressure defaults to set psi, operates normal.

What happens if a hose gets kinked?

The SAM BOOST system places a notification on the SAM Control Center if it detects a kinked hose (pressure is low at the nozzle and SAM increases the pressure at the valve, but nozzle pressure does not increase). SAM will increase pressure up to 25 psi to overcome. However, it will cease increasing pressure before any damage could be done to the line.

How durable is the nozzle?

SAM BOOST and SAM Nozzle have undergone rigorous testing.
